The CRO Leadership Awards are presented annually by Life Science Leader magazine and are based on market research conducted by Industry Standard Research (ISR). The awards granted come as a result of Pharm-Olam’s strong showing in ISR’s annual CRO Quality Benchmarking survey. CROs were evaluated against two different sets of selection criteria, Overall and Small Pharma, and only by clients they serviced directly over the past 18 months.
Pharm-Olam was named a Top Performer for Compatibility, which measured the CRO’s responsiveness, project team chemistry, communication timeliness and how easy the sponsor found working with them. In addition, Pharm-Olam was recognized as having Exceeded Customer Expectations in the other four performance categories: Capabilities, Expertise, Quality and Reliability. Pharm-Olam’s sixth recognition was an Individual Attribute Award for Responsiveness.

According to its website, the ISR CRO Quality Benchmarking Report “provides pharmaceutical sponsors and service providers a Consumer Reports-style analysis of CRO quality.” This year, over 2,200 service encounters were evaluated, comprising 65 CROs and 27 different performance metrics. Respondents only evaluate companies with whom they have collaborated on an outsourced clinical trial during the last 18 months. The study is designed in such a way that results are backed only by experiential data.
